A Play "Being Leonardo - an Impossible Interview" by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory

Date:

04/06/2017

A Play

The show presents Leonardo’s true life and invites the audience to discover the story behind the painter, the scientist, the inventor with his authentic language, his secrets, his methods of working, and passions.

Renowned Italian director and actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory's latest project is a one-act play with audio-visual reconstructions, about the Italian genius's true life, art and science. Dressed in period costumes and wearing make up which reconstructs Da Vinci's face, Finazzer performs in original texts written by Leonardo himself. Being interviewed “on stage”, Leonardo answers questions about his childhood, his civil and military activities, how to become a "good painter", and about the relationship between Painting and Science, Painting and Sculpture, Painting and Music. He comments on "The Last Supper", replies to his enemies' attacks, and finally offers maxims and aphorisms to live by in our times.
