Giovanni “Gio” Ponti, (Milan, November 18, 1891 - Milan, September 16, 1979), is one of the most famous and influential architects and designers of the 20th century. He is remembered as an artist, architect, writer, innovator, painter, poet and professor. His unique designs are still relevant today, as the originals are considered valuable collectors items and some creations are continually re-issued by various manufacturers.

Tomaso Buzzi (Sondrio, 1900 - Rapallo, 1981) had very close relations with the Milanese Novecento Group and soon began with Gio' Ponti a long and fruitful collaboration, which extended from architecture, urban planning, design and finally participation with articles in "Domus", the magazine founded in 1928 by Ponti. Buzzi distinguished himself as a leading designer, landscaper and restorer / inventor as well as architect of many important Italian buildings; he collaborated in the organization of national and international events (Milan Triennale, International Exhibition of Amsterdam) and served as Artistic Director for Venini in Venice for many years, leaving his mark in his unique design of glass lamps.
